PRIMITIVE WATER TANKS at Greenvale Sanatorium are responsible for the fact that the nurses (shown with Dr. B. C. Scott on the right) have to come to Melbourne to have a bath.
The tank supply is badly contaminated by ‘possums and birds.
To give the 80 patients one bath a week, water has to be carted from Broadmeadows at a cost of £3 or ninepence a head for-water alone
It would cost £1500 to lay a water main from Broadmeadows.
