A house built of this material is thoroughly fire-proof, cool in summer, and comfortable in winter.
The Spencer-street railway station has been lined outside with it.
The Melbourne University has some rooms finished with fiihro-cement; the sanatoria at Broadmeadows and at Mitcham are built with it.
