Great interest is manifested in the district in the work of the Diamond and Goldfields Company in the boring for water to supply the consumptive Sanatorium.
Boring is in progress at the property of Mr. Robert Trotman, a mile and a half from the Sanatorium.
It is expected that good water will be reached at the depth of 130 feet, and that a supply of 12,000 gallons a day will be obtained.
The water will be pumped to a height or 40 feet, which will give it the necessary head carry it by gravitation.
As the want of a good water supply is greatly impairing the beneficial work of the Sanatorium, it is to be hopped that success will follow out the work now in progress.
The timely and generous rains, combined with the genial weather, have greatly enhanced the farming outlook.
Crops are everywhere growing well, and with a continuance of seasonable weather, promise an abundant harvest.
