Three weeks ago Sid Dawson made a pittance selling cakes of soap and writing tablets to the patients at Greenvale Sanatorium in Victoria.
On Thursday night last he was the host at a dinner for the 98 inmates whose purchases in the past kept him from destitution.
Not long ago he was an inmate of the Incurable Diseases Hospital, but was discharged, and to mark the event took a ticket in a sweep, together with two pals. They won.
Sid was £1600 richer, and did not forgot his customers.
Hence the. party.
