Man Struggles from Water.
When walking along the banks of Scotchman’s Creek, Oakleigh, yesterday, two boys found Thomas Haines aged 30 years, gardener, of no fixed abode, lying on the bank with his throat cut. Life was extinct. Haines’ clothing was wet, and marks on the bank indicated that he had crawled from the water after his throat had been cut. The body was taken to the Morgue. The police have been informed that Haines was once an inmate of the Greenvale Sanatorium.
