Consumptives’ Sanatorium at Broadmeadows.
There was no opening ceremony of the Broadmeadows Sanatorium on Thursday last.
But ten patients have been installed, and Dr Drake is the resident medical officer with a nursing staff.
The tents are on rising ground, and the large dam is being ploughed out to afford more catchment.
The land is being fenced in, and on the occasion of our visit water was being carted by means of a traction engine, which was not having very good luck, as it frequently got bogged.
The quarters are all neat and new, from an outward point of view, and it remains to be seen whether the spot will prove a suitable one for a sanatorium.
